Business Development Planning
Problem: Budget constraints were not allowing the company to add needed resources to continue offering a high-level service
Need: An internal resource analysis to look for under-utilized resources to create capacity
Proposal: After a deep-dive internal review, capacity issues existed due to imbalanced capacity planning and team structures. A global approach structure in this particular company would create capacity by simply aligning regional teams with a focus on specialization and alignment by client service across the company
Approach: Revised the team structure and created global teams to better service clients while creating stronger focus and internal growth opportunities across regions
Final Outcome: After a 3 month review, training and resource review effort, a new project management structure was created to remove the “regional silos” in this company and develop a strong, global services model. A client-centric team structure aligned with specializations among employees in their new teams created additional capacity without hiring new resources, a more focused client approach and stronger company-wide cohesion. The re-alignment also allowed the company to offer a 24/7 coverage model that was not previously offered for clients.
